Hi! I'm Kelly Rose, a mom of two athletes that play baseball year-round. I pride myself on being able to get their baseball pants looking BRIGHT white, no matter how much damage they do to them!

If you’re a baseball parent, you already know… white baseball pants never stay white for long! 😂 Between grass stains, red clay, dirt, and mystery marks from sliding into bases, they can look completely ruined after just one game.

Before you toss them or spend a fortune replacing gear, here’s the cleaning method I swear by to get those pants looking bright and game-ready again.

What You’ll Need:

  • HOT water

  • Oxi-Based Cleaner (I use Target brand!)

  • Dawn Powerwash

  • A scrub brush

  • Bleach

  • A little patience… and maybe a good audiobook 🎧📚

I linked everything for you here so you can grab it all now and be fully prepared the next time you’re face-to-face with stubborn grass stains: THE CLEANING DREAM TEAM IS WAITING!

OK! Now that you have your supplies, let's get into it! Here's a step-by-step breakdown of how I get my son's baseball pants looking brand new, every single time!

Step 1: Fill Your Sink with HOT Water

And I mean HOT. The hot water helps loosen dirt and activates the Oxi so it can start lifting stains immediately.

Step 2: Add Oxi - Based Cleaner

Add a scoop of Oxi-Based Cleaner to the sink and let it fully dissolve into the water.

One reason I love Oxi Clean is that it works similarly to bleach without being as harsh on fabrics or colors, and let me tell you, it works MAGIC!

Step 3: Spray the Stains with Dawn Powerwash

Before soaking, spray all the stained areas generously with Dawn Powerwash.

Don’t hold back here. I coat every grass stain, dirt patch, and knee mark really well—especially if the stains have already dried and set in.

Step 4: Start Scrubbing

Dip your scrub brush into the Oxi water and start scrubbing.

And yes… scrub like you're mad at those pants. (Because let's be honest, you probably are! LOL)

A lot of parents worry about damaging the pants, but baseball pants are made to handle serious wear and tear. The knees are reinforced because these kids are constantly sliding, diving, and destroying them game after game.

**Trust me: the pants can handle a good scrub from a baseball mom.

Step 5: Keep Going Until the Water Turns Green

This is honestly my biggest tip. I keep soaking and scrubbing until the water and suds turn green or brown from all the dirt being lifted out.

If your water still looks clean… keep going 😅

Step 6: Drain and Soak

Once the first round is done, I drain the sink and fill it back up with HOT water. Add one scoop of Oxi-based cleaner, a tablespoon of Tide detergent and a splash of bleach to your water and put the pants right back in.

*The bleach is optional, but if you want those pants EXTRA bright, add a small splash to the water. And from one baseball mom to another: buy the low-splash bleach unless you want to ruin your favorite “Baseball Mama” sweatshirt too!

I've always got an audio book in my ear!

At this point? Let them soak.

Go read a book, answer texts from the team group chat, reheat your coffee (or matcha) for the third time, and come back whenever you remember.

The longer they soak, the brighter they get.

Step 7: Rinse + Quick Wash

Once you’re happy with how they look, rinse the pants with cold water and toss them into the washing machine.

I usually run a quick wash cycle with detergent and another small splash of bleach for one final brightening boost.

The Final Result ⚾️✨

And just like that… GRAND SLAM BABY!

You went from dirt-covered and grass-stained to bright white and game-day ready again.

Honestly, there’s no better feeling than pulling those clean baseball pants out of the wash and realizing you somehow pulled it off AGAIN!

Now go ahead, Mama. Enjoy your victory…

At least until your kid slides into home at tomorrow’s game. 😅O

Any questions, just pop them below and I'll come back and answer them for you.

Happy Baseballe Season!

Kelly Rose
